Currency in the developed nations go a long way in the less developed countries.  Poverty levels are high and many children, even with loving families, suffer malnutrition and lack of education resources.  For example, currently $1 can buy PHP52. Here are some examples of what cents on the dollar can provide:

• A kilo (2.2 lbs) of rice is about $1, enough to feed a kid for week
• A kilo of chicken is about $3, too much money for a family who might only make $2 /day
• Our program can provide a feast to a hungry child for anywhere from $0.45 to $.85…you can’t even a candy bar at this price

For $100 – sponsor a day’s feeding (100 to 150 kids)

For $500 – build a home for a poor family

Hope is all they have – hope that help can come their way thru proper feeding, training and a sense of community support.
